We’re halfway through the year, have you completed 51% of what you set out to do?
Ahh, New Year’s Resolutions… the most lucrative time of the year for all savvy Internet marketers. People vow to “lose weight,” “get fit,” “make money online,” “start a business” and so forth.
Goals are awesome.
But what isn’t is the commitment of many of these people.
Many start off the year with goals, resolutions and targets that they passionately believe (at the time) that they will reach. I absolutely love that! But as you know, most will forget all about them after 3 weeks.
How many gym memberships are abandoned after the first month of sign-up?
How many healthy diets? Vows to quit smoking? Internet marketing systems abandoned?
Now I’m not pointing fingers… Nor am I suggesting that you are one of these people…
But let’s take a moment and look back to the start of the year.
Here are my resolutions for 2014:
1. To Publish My Book -COMPLETED
It’s taken me 7 years of writing and re-writing and scrapping and starting again… but my book is finally complete. And it feels amazing!
Build A Money Machine was recently launched in local bookstores across Malaysia, and while my perfectionist mindset sees a few tweaks here and there for the second printing, I couldn’t be prouder of my first physical book.
Here it is at MPH:
2. To Speak At The National Achiever’s Congress – COMPLETED
Now this has always been a dream of mine. I turned it into a goal and have been spending the past two years working to realize this.
After countless sleepless nights, speaker training from the likes of T. Harv Eker and Joel Bauer, and paying my dues on the smaller platforms, Success Resources finally invited me to speak on their biggest platform – National Achiever’s Congress.
I covered Malaysia and Singapore. And while I’m really really not one to brag, I am proud to say that I was their most successful closer on both occasions.
As a result of which, I’ve been given the honour of continuing on the NAC circuit and will be traveling to Vietnam, Thailand and (fingers crossed) a couple other countries too… I’ll definitely keep you posted once when I hit a city near you!
3. Release A Work From No Home Sequel – WORK IN PROGRESS
As someone who takes great pride in producing high quality products and systems, the sequel to my flagship system Work From No Home is something that I am taking my time on.
Nope, that’s not a cop out to say I haven’t done anything. I’m not just “thinking about it,” I really have been working on it.
In fact, it was during Joel Bauer’s Voyage2Destiny that I got most of the work done.
During the mastermind in the Caribbean, not only did I meet tons of incredible people who sparked off so many great ideas and opened my mind up to a whole new level of possibilities, I also shot tons of training videos. These are going to be the basis of my upcoming release…
4. Bring Smobble To Greater Heights – Ongoing
My Internet marketing company Smobble has been growing and growing… What started out as a 5-man team is now close to 20 full-time employees.
Each of my team members are professionally trained in specific areas. I’ve got a social media manager who handles around 25 accounts on various networking platforms at the same time, graphic designers who can whip up high converting landing pages in a manner of minutes, copywriters who manage to make me want to take out my credit card to buy my own products, a fantastic support team that know systems I set up better than I know them myself…
Well the list goes on.
This is a pretty vague goal. And a lot of it has to do with numbers which are, for the most part, private and confidential.
I can indulge however, that I have the best team in the world.
5. Education – Ongoing
My cruise in the Caribbean with Joel Bauer and other great minds is just one of the many things I’ve done this year to continue learning.
Seminars, workshops, reading books and autobiographies, these are just a handful of “hobbies” that make up my daily life.
It’s impossible for one person to know everything. And while I’m a coach to many, I still stay in constant contact with my own mentors and continue to attend seminars.
A few months back I wanted to learn more about property investment, so I signed up for Real Estate Wealth Mastery with Milan Doshi and pretty much a ton of other seminars.
6. Fitness – Ongoing
I still train every morning. Without fail. I still drink my meals of chicken breast, broccoli and other nutritional goodness. Yup. All good.
7. Tough Mudder – Ongoing
It takes a lot of physical preparation for this one. But I can confidently say I’m on the right track.
8. Get 6-Pack Abs – Hmmm…
Well… I do still have until December 31st 2014. So. No comment. Ok. One comment. I gained 4kg.
Not bad to say the least! Maybe I need new resolutions to keep me going for the rest of the year.
Take a look back at your list. What have you accomplished? What haven’t you accomplished yet? And most importantly ask yourself WHY for both.
