Hey everyone!
The video above was taken backstage in Taiwan. I wanted to show you all some rare behind-the-scenes footage during the event.
There was a huge crowd of people there – it was really exciting, so even if you missed the live scope itself, you’ll be able to watch the video here.
In today’s blog post I’ll also be sharing with you the most essential element when it comes to speaking and presenting on stage, and what is the one thing that really separates the top speakers in the world from everyone else.
The Most Essential Element of Public Speaking and Presenting
Whether it’s one-on-one, one-to-five, one-to-thousands, or in the case of the Internet, one-to-millions, the one thing that will separate your presentation from everyone else is the power of your emotions.
This refers to how you evoke your emotions in your presentation.
Just this one element alone can make the difference between being an amateur, or being world-class.
If you were to take a look at all the top presentations in the world (whether it’s an event like this or something much bigger) you’ll notice that all the top speakers in the world are really good at two things:
- Relating with people
- Sharing their story
When they share their story, they do it in such an authentic way that you can actually feel them and their emotion.
So the question you want to ask yourself is: How do you evoke that kind of emotion in people with your presentation?
Because I’m telling you, if you can master this skill, money will no longer be a concern in your life.
You want to really increase your game and take things to a whole new level – and the only way to do that is by having emotion in your presentation.
You don’t want to be too matter-of-fact and focused only on showing the numbers and statistics. People can’t relate to that.
Instead, you want to evoke emotions. So here’s the two things that will really help you out in building emotion:
1. Think about 5 struggles you have had in your life.
You want to think on this and come up with 5 different struggles that you have had in your life.
The reason you want to do this is because you want people to be able to relate to you.
This is really important because if they can’t relate to you, they won’t be interested in following you or investing with you.
2. Think about 5 successes you have had in your life.
On the other side of the equation, you will also want to think about 5 successes that you have had in your life as well.
Why? Because now, people won’t be wondering if they can relate to you.
They’ll be wondering: “Why should I listen to you?”
So there needs to be a balance between these two things: the struggles that make you relatable, and the successes that you have had in your life.
Once you find that balance, you’ll be able to put your story together in a way that will enable you to evoke true emotion in your audience.
Right, so to recap:
It’s important to learn how to tell your story in such a way that you evoke emotion in your audience, so that they will be able to relate to you, and so that they will want to follow, listen to you and be more willing to invest in you.
The two things that will help you evoke emotion in your presentation are:
- Your struggles in life
- Your successes in life
I look forward to sharing more tips with you when it comes to presenting online or offline, and in helping you to take your business to a whole new level.
